Meet Kewabone

Kewabone started with Pabalelo as a “Tirelo Sechaba” government volunteer, but has a natural interest and knowledge of cropping in this area, having grown up helping his mother plough and plant. He is therefore a valuable link to the farmers and his first- hand knowledge and experience has helped Pabalelo gain more understanding of the life around dryland cropping. Kewabone is in charge of the Thikaña field and production site at Pabalelo, overseeing community gardeners and maintaining irrigation and other system, while also providing direct assistance to the Director in terms of logistics and operations.

Kewabone Bontsibokae (Biji) was born in Samochima, Botswana. He completed his primary school at Nxamasere Primary School and attended secondary school at Popagano Junior Secondary School. After leaving school, he worked at Smart Construction in Samochima. He previously led the Environmental Education Club at Samochima Primary School through Pabalelo Trust’s Youth Programming.
